I'm a 30-something mom of little ones who gets up early to start her day with black coffee and God's Word, paints during nap time, reads books to her kids with theatrical intensity, and regularly tickles all members of her household. I've loved all these things (minus coffee) since childhood.

I spent my senior year of high school at Interlochen Arts Academy, where I did not study art but creative writing. I earned a bachelor's degree in English Writing from Wheaton College, where I spent just as much time dreaming and doodling as I did taking notes. After graduation, I left the midwest and started post grad life Colorado, where I worked in hospitality, felt my love for Christ rekindled while attending Flatirons Church, and met my husband.
I consider group Halloween costumes a major perk of having small kids. The previous year, I was pregnant with my daughter, and we won 4th place in the Hendersonville Treat Street group costume contest, with my stomach painted as a basketball.
We now live in western North Carolina with our young kids, where we're slowly building a life for our family as we navigate marriage, parenthood, career decisions, and community. I continue to learn (sometimes the hard way) how to balance creative passions and projects with the ever-changing seasons of motherhood's demands, challenges, chances, and blessings.

Spit-up season was LONG and hard with our daughter. This was a day in the life not so long ago.
