New Children's Book!

September 1st was my deadline to finish the illustrations for a fantastic children's book written by

by Jon Duvall, and with a lot of childcare help from my family and scanning assistance from a patient teenage employee at a strip mall Mail Box and Pack office, I made it. When we have our publication date set, I'll update you here!

Wesley the Woodmouse Needs a New House follows our protagonist and his neighbor, Ed Chipmunk, on their realtor-crow guided quest for a new home when their tree-house it cut down. An unexpected example of the healing that comes with repentance and forgiveness leaves the reader both warmed and challenged to treat others with the respect and kindness they themselves want to receive.

We're taking this show on the road in May! Join me for story time at the Pell City Library in Alabama for a special read-aloud of A Business of Ferrets. Your kiddo (and you!) will have the chance to ask a few questions, show off your coloring skills, and enter a raffle to win a free signed copy of my first picture book. We hope to see you there!

Working this summer on the watercolor illustrations for Wesley the Woodmouse Needs a New House. I fell in love with this cleverly rhyming story the moment I first read it, original artwork and all. Lucky for me, Jon wanted a different look for his illustrations than what he'd come up with on his own.

Pro Tip: Position your coffee cup and brush rinsing jar on OPPOSITE sides of your workspace. There were many close calls.

The students at Etowah Elementary School were a wonderful, engaged audience and asked some great questions afterwards!
